Alanya
Antalya · Türkiye
A Mediterranean resort city on Turkey's southern coast where a Seljuk-era citadel dominates a modest peninsula backed by the Taurus Mountains, Alanya combines long beaches with a dense café and restaurant scene and a set of 13th-century landmarks — the Red Tower, the Tersane shipyard, and Alanya Castle — built under Alaeddin Kayqubad I, from whom the city takes its name. The peninsula's position above the sea makes it one of the more photographed stretches of the Turkish Riviera.
