Anet
Eure-et-Loir · France
Château d'Anet, built by architect Philibert de l'Orme between 1547 and 1552 for Diane de Poitiers under Henri II, is the main draw of this small village in Eure-et-Loir, north-central France. The château was partially destroyed and later altered, and was listed as a historic monument in 1993. The village also holds the 16th-century church of Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte, whose apse dates to the 12th and 13th centuries, and a classified Doric-column cemetery cross. The Eure river runs through, with walks along its banks.
