This small spa town in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, sits along the Main river and is anchored by three landmarks: the Basilica of Vierzehnheiligen, designed by Balthasar Neumann; Banz Abbey, now Banz Castle; and the Staffelberg hill. The Obermain Therme, said to be Bavaria's warmest and strongest thermal bath, earned the town its "Bad" designation in 2001. Vineyards surround the area, and the wider region — marketed as the Gottesgarten — holds several scenic viewpoints and a real café and restaurant scene for a town its size.
