Beiuș

This pocket-sized Romanian town in Bihor County where the Crișul Negru river runs through the centre, Beiuș sits close to the Apuseni Mountains and holds an unusual number of historic churches for its size. From the late 18th century into the early 20th, it served as one of the most significant centres for Romanian-language education in the Crișana region.
