Burao

Burao is Somaliland's second capital and the city where the republic's founding conference was held, giving it an outsized role in the country's modern history. The Togdheer river runs through the centre, dividing the city in two when rains come, with two bridges — the New Bridge and Deero Bridge — linking the halves. Mountains are visible from the city, and water is a short drive away.
