Çarşamba

A Black Sea town in Turkey's Samsun Province, Çarşamba sits on both banks of the Yeşilırmak river as it opens onto the Çarşamba Plain, with mountains visible on the horizon. The compact centre has a concentration of cafés, restaurants, and historic churches. The town is also the birthplace of Ferhan Şensoy, the writer, actor, and stage director.
