Chandragiri, a village in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district, serves as the southwestern gateway to Tirupati for travellers arriving from Bangalore, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. The nearby Kalyana Venkateswara Temple at Srinivasamangapuram is the starting point for Srivari Mettu, a network of stone footpaths leading on foot up to Tirumala. The surrounding hills carry deciduous forests with red sandalwood and teak, and the area's fertile red-black soils support rice cultivation and extensive mango orchards.
