Château de Chenonceau, built across the River Cher and the most visited château in France after Versailles, sits at the edge of this little hamlet in the Indre-et-Loire. The village adjoins the castle grounds and lies within the Touraine-Chenonceaux wine-growing area, bordered by the Forest of Amboise. The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, with a Renaissance facade and Romanesque apse rebuilt in 1515, is among several protected historic monuments in the commune.
