Comana
Adana · Türkiye
The ruins of Comana, an ancient city known in classical sources as Comana Chryse — "the golden" — to distinguish it from its namesake in Pontus, lie in the Tufanbeyli district of Adana Province in northern Türkiye. Once part of Cappadocia and later Cataonia, the site may correspond to the Hittite religious centre called Kummanni, though that identification remains unconfirmed. The ruins are located at the modern village of Şarköy, in mountain terrain in Adana's northernmost reaches.
