Demonte

The 15th-century fresco artist Giovanni Baleison was born in this modest Piedmontese village in the Valle Stura di Demonte, southwest of Cuneo. Set in mountain terrain along the river, Demonte has a handful of cafés and restaurants and an above-average number of churches for a village its size, with some listed heritage architecture in the surrounding area.
