Erdek

A popular domestic holiday destination on the Kapıdağ Peninsula in Turkey's Sea of Marmara region, Erdek sits directly on the water with clean beaches and a compact centre of cafés and restaurants. The surrounding terrain is rugged, with evergreen woodland, large olive groves, and Mt Dindymus rising above the peninsula. Summer ferries connect the town to the Marmara Islands, and the harbour looks out toward Zeytinlik island, home to an olive research station.
