The county seat of Franklin County in western Maine, Farmington is a pocket-sized university town in mountain terrain with a walkable centre holding cafés, restaurants, and a concentration of historic churches. It is home to the University of Maine at Farmington and to the Nordica Homestead, a museum dedicated to the opera singer Lillian Nordica, as well as the annual Farmington Fair.
