Goris

Cultural hub for the Syunik region of southern Armenia, Goris sits in a river valley amid mountain terrain with a compact centre well supplied with cafés, restaurants, hotels, and inns. The town is also the seat of the Armenian Apostolic Diocese of Syunik. Just outside the centre, the stone pyramids of Old Kores — eroded rock formations rising from the valley — are among the area's most visited natural features.
