Lakeside town on the south bank of Lake Zurich, Horgen has a walkable centre with cafés and restaurants, scenic viewpoints in the surrounding hills, and direct access to the water. It has been the principal town of its district since 1831, and the Neolithic Horgener Culture takes its name from the area.
