Île-de-Sein
France
A little Breton island in the Atlantic off Finistère, Île-de-Sein sits eight kilometres from the Pointe du Raz, separated from the mainland by the Raz de Sein — waters notorious for the Chaussée de Sein, a vast reef system stretching more than thirty miles and marked by several lighthouses including Ar Men, La Vieille, and Tévennec. Part of both the Parc naturel marin d'Iroise and the Parc naturel régional d'Armorique, the island supports a pocket-sized clutch of cafés and restaurants despite its tiny permanent population.
