Itumbiara
Itumbiara · Brazil
Sitting on the Paranaíba River at the Goiás–Minas Gerais border, Itumbiara is a city in southern Goiás where water sports, the Salitre Waterfall, and the Beira Rio Lighthouse draw visitors to the riverfront. The historic Affonso Penna Bridge connects the two states here. The city traces its origins to an 1820s road crossing the Paranaíba, with the district of Santa Rita do Paranaíba formally established in 1852 and the municipality in 1909.
