Kullu

Hill-station town on the banks of the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu Valley, set among forests of deodar and pine with the Pir Panjal and Great Himalayan ranges visible on the horizon. It serves as the district headquarters and a base for the wider valley, roughly a short drive from Manali. The Beas originates at Beas Kund and runs through a succession of hillside settlements before reaching the town.
