Kunitachi
Kunitachi City · Japan
A compact city on the western edge of Tokyo Metropolis with a walkable centre known for its café and restaurant scene, Kunitachi grew from a planned residential development laid out in the late Taishō era by the Hakone Land company. Its name was coined by combining one character each from the neighbouring stations of Kokubunji and Tachikawa, between which a new station was built on the Chūō Line.
