Longyan

Longyan is a large city in south-western Fujian Province designated as a national Hakka cultural heritage conservation zone, where Hakka and southern Fujian cultures meet. The surrounding region holds the Yongding Hakka earthen roundhouses — the tulou — inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the Tingjiang River is traditionally called the "Mother River of the Hakka people." The historic town of Changting is known as the "Hakka capital." The city sits against the southern slopes of the Wuyi Mountains.
