Birthplace of Charles de Batz-Castelmore — the real-life musketeer behind Alexandre Dumas's d'Artagnan — this small hamlet in the Gers department of southwestern France sits in cereal and wine-growing country drained by several rivers. The Château de Castelmore, listed as a historic monument in 1993, and the Hospice Saint-Jacques, listed in 1935, are the two protected buildings in the commune. A Natura 2000 site along the Gélise river adds a natural heritage dimension.
