This lakeside village in the Kastoria regional unit of Macedonia carries a layered history: the older settlement of Palaio Kostarazi was destroyed by German forces in April 1944 as a reprisal, and has since been designated a Martyred Village by presidential decree. The Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos survived and still stands among the ruins of the old site, while the present village was founded after the Greek Civil War.
