Orani
Nuoro · Italy
Small Sardinian village in the Barbagia region, at the foot of Mount Gonare, known for its stonework, carpentry, metalwork, and tailoring in traditional Sardinian velvet. Around 30 nuraghi and several giants' graves dot the surrounding area, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Gonare crowns the mountain above the village. The Nivola Museum adds a further cultural draw, and the village supports a modest café and restaurant scene alongside an above-average number of churches for its size.
