Pisco Elqui
Paihuano · Chile
This pocket-sized highland village in Chile's Elqui Valley, Pisco Elqui takes its name from the grape-based spirit whose Chilean denomination of origin it was renamed in 1936 to help defend. Set along the Claro River at elevation, the village is one of the Elqui Valley's main tourist draws, with a café and restaurant scene, surrounding vineyards, and scenic mountain views — all within a valley with deep roots in Indigenous, colonial, and distilling history.
