Puerto Ordaz and San Felix
Venezuela
Ciudad Guayana — formed in 1961 by the unification of Puerto Ordaz and the older settlement of San Félix — spreads along the south bank of the Orinoco River in Venezuela's Bolívar State, where the Caroní River joins it from the south. Cachamay Falls and Llovizna Falls lie within the city limits, and Puerto Ordaz's planned districts, shaped partly by US Steel's presence in the 1960s, give the city an unusually suburban feel for South America. Manuel Carlos Piar International Airport serves the city.
