Racovita
Vâlcea · Romania
A small commune in the foothills of the Southern Carpathians, Racovița sits on the banks of the Olt River and holds the sites of two ancient Roman forts — Praetorium at Racovița and a second at Copăceni — alongside several historic churches for a settlement of its size. The wider Vâlcea region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the mountains are close.
