Rosedale
Wellington · Australia
Little Gippsland town on the southern bank of the La Trobe River, east of Melbourne, with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size. Once a staging post on the coach runs between Port Albert, Sale, and Walhalla, Rosedale holds a memorial to Angus McMillan, one of two explorers — the other being Count Paul von Strzelecki — who separately traversed this region in 1840. Strzelecki named the wider area Gippsland after Governor Gipps.
