Sacaba
Bolivia
This city in Bolivia's Cochabamba Department, a short drive east of the departmental capital, Sacaba sits at high elevation in the Andes with mountains close by and water access nearby. Its centre retains some post-colonial republican-era architecture, though parts have been lost to neglect. The city also holds a place in recent Bolivian political history as the site of the 2002 coca-eradication protests that led to Evo Morales's removal from congress, preceding his presidency.
