Sakaiminato

Birthplace of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki, Sakaiminato is a port town in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, where bronze statues of characters from his celebrated series *Gegege no Kitaro* line the waterfront street known as Mizuki Shigeru Road. The Yumigahama Peninsula, with its white-sand coastline, has been recognised among Japan's top beaches and pine-shore landscapes, with the mountain Daisen rising to the southeast as a backdrop.
