Samaipata

A small Bolivian town in the Andean foothills with a notably dense café and restaurant scene for its size, Samaipata sits at a comfortable mid-altitude elevation in Santa Cruz Department, a short drive southwest of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Colonial buildings and cobbled streets fill the centre, and the surrounding area offers access to El Fuerte de Samaipata, Amboro National Park, waterfalls, vineyards, and the Che Guevara route — making it a common first stop on trails toward Sucre and Potosí.
