This river-port city on the Kama River in Russia's Udmurt Republic, Sarapul has a walkable centre with cafés and restaurants and sits directly on the water, with scenic surroundings. The third-largest city in the republic after Izhevsk and Votkinsk, it has passed through several administrative arrangements since the 18th century, when it was assigned to the Osinsky Province of Ufa Governorate in 1738, before becoming a district town of Vyatka Governorate from 1780.
