This cross-country skiing destination on a forested mountain plateau east of Lillehammer, Sjusjøen sits at the heart of an extensive trail network connecting to the Olympic tracks at Birkebeineren Ski Stadium. The area holds what is said to be Norway's largest concentration of recreational homes, alongside a lake, hotel, and youth hostel. Originally a mountain farming community, it developed into a skiing hub with prepared trails running through forest and open highland terrain into neighbouring municipalities.
