Stará Ľubovňa
Slovakia
A walkable town in northeastern Slovakia near the Polish border, Stará Ľubovňa has a centre with cafés and restaurants and sits close to mountain terrain. From 1412 the town was part of a Polish territorial pledge, an arrangement that shaped its local culture and dialect — a Gorál influence still faintly present today. The wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
