This town in Middle Pomerania, northwestern Poland, set between three lakes — Trzesiecko, Wielimie, and Wilczkowo — with a compact centre that holds a concentration of cafés and restaurants. Founded in 1310 by Duke Warcisław IV, Szczecinek retains most of its pre-war architecture, and its entire Old Town has been designated a national heritage monument of Poland. The town is also home to one of the oldest museums and one of the oldest high schools in Pomerania.
