Nicknamed "Granada's Daughter," Tétouan is a Moroccan city whose medina has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 — shaped by the Andalusian Muslims and Jews who rebuilt it after fleeing the fall of Granada in 1492. The old quarters retain a distinctly Andalusian character, set between the Rif Mountains and the Mediterranean coast. Since 2017, the city has also held UNESCO Creative Cities status for Crafts and Folk Art.
