Tevfikiye
Canakkale · Türkiye
Sitting directly beside the archaeological site of Troy, Tevfikiye is a compact village in Çanakkale Province that some sources describe as the "eleventh settlement of Troy." Following works carried out as part of Troy Year 2018, the village was transformed into an archaeo-village. The wider region holds UNESCO World Heritage recognition, and the village saw military action during the early 1920s, changing hands between Greek and Turkish forces before the Turkish Army recaptured it in September 1922.
