Trujillo
Peru
Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in the ancient world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, sits within the metropolitan area of this large coastal city in northwestern Peru, alongside the Huaca del Sol — the country's largest pre-Columbian adobe pyramid. Trujillo's historic centre holds ten colonial churches within the old city walls, with a dense café and restaurant scene nearby. The city is also the home of the marinera, Peru's national dance, celebrated each January at the National Marinera Festival.
