Valle de Bravo
Valle de Bravo · Mexico
A lakeside town in the State of Mexico, Valle de Bravo sits on the shore of Lake Avándaro — a reservoir created in 1947 — with a walkable colonial centre full of cafés and restaurants. Founded by Franciscan friars in 1530 and designated a Pueblo Mágico in 2005, it draws weekend visitors from Mexico City with sailing, paragliding, and access to one of Mexico's monarch butterfly sanctuaries. The town also hosted the legendary 1971 Festival de Rock y Ruedas Avándaro.
