Velp
Netherlands
A heritage-dense town in Gelderland, just east of Arnhem, Velp has a walkable centre with cafés and restaurants alongside a concentration of listed historic buildings. The old southern core dates to the ninth century and is anchored by the 12th-century Oude Jan church, while quieter villa districts spread to the north. The Emmapiramide landmark lies just north of town, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
