Vernon

This lakeside city in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Vernon sits on the shores of Okanagan Lake with a walkable centre full of cafés and restaurants and scenic views across the water to the surrounding mountains. The city takes its name from Forbes George Vernon, a 19th-century MLA who helped establish the nearby Coldstream Ranch, and was incorporated in 1892.
