Vietri sul Mare
Salerno · Italy
Polychrome ceramics have been made in Vietri sul Mare since at least the 15th century, and the tradition remains central to this little Campanian town at the western edge of the Amalfi Coast. Buildings throughout the town display ceramic work, and the Museo Provinciale della Ceramica in the nearby village of Raito holds a dedicated collection. The main landmark is the Church of St. John the Baptist, a late Neapolitan Renaissance building with a prominent bell tower. The frazione of Albori is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia.
