Pocket-sized Belgian town in East Flanders on the River Durme, Waasmunster has an unusual concentration of historic churches for its size and vineyards in the surrounding countryside. Roosenberg Abbey, founded in the 13th century, is the most prominent landmark. The town sits in the Land van Waas region, with easy road access toward Ghent and Antwerp, and is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites across the wider region.
