Waihi Beach
New Zealand
A long sandy beach at the western edge of the Bay of Plenty anchors this small North Island coastal town, with the undeveloped Orokawa Bay and its native bush of pōhutukawa, pūriri, and nīkau palms accessible via walking tracks through the Orokawa Scenic Reserve to the north. The southern end of the beach reaches Bowentown and the northern entrance to Tauranga Harbour. A small café and restaurant scene serves the town year-round.
