This town on both banks of the Euphrates in Iraq's Babil Province, Al Musayyib sits at the point where the river splits into the Hindiya and Hilla branches, with a compact centre that holds cafés and restaurants within walking distance of the water. The Hindiya Barrage lies just to the south, and the town occupies a position on the road linking Baghdad to Karbala. The Musayyib Power Plant is one of Iraq's principal electricity-generating facilities.
