Amantani
Peru
Amantani is a circular island on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, known as the "Island of the Kantuta" after the national flower of Peru and Bolivia, which grows across its slopes. Two mountain peaks, Pachatata and Pachamama, rise above terraced hillsides worked largely by hand, and both summits hold ancient Inca and Tiwanaku ruins. The island also has a tradition of textile weaving and stone carving from local granite.
