Arenas de San Pedro
Ávila · Spain
This small town in Ávila's Sierra de Gredos foothills with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size, Arenas de San Pedro sits beside water and close to the mountains of the regional park it borders — making it the most populated settlement in that protected area. The town received its title of villa in 1393, and in the 18th century hosted the court of Infante Luis Antonio de Borbón, whose circle included Francisco de Goya, Luigi Boccherini, and architect Ventura Rodríguez.
