Guisando
Ávila · Spain
Small village on the southern slopes of the Sierra de Gredos in Ávila, Guisando sits within the regional park's protected zone and offers scenic mountain surroundings alongside a centre of whitewashed vernacular houses declared a heritage site in 1976. Despite its size, it has a handful of cafés and restaurants. The village gained independence from Arenas de San Pedro in 1760 under Carlos III and is thought to have originated as a late-medieval shepherds' settlement.
