Biłgoraj

Poland

Founded in the second half of the 16th century by the Gorajski noble family, Biłgoraj is a town in south-eastern Poland's Lublin Voivodeship with a compact centre of cafés and restaurants. Set among the forests of Puszcza Solska near the Roztocze region, it sits on the Łada river and two others. Historically a meeting point of Polish, Jewish, Ruthenian, and Russian cultures, the town was once a significant Protestant centre and later a notable craft hub.
