Buseok
South Korea
Buseoksa, a Buddhist temple founded by the scholar-monk Uisang in 676 on the slopes of Mt. Bonghwang near Yeongju, South Korea, is known as the Temple of the Floating Stone and houses the Muryangsujeon — the second oldest surviving wooden building in the country, reconstructed in 1376. The temple became a centre of Korean Huayan Buddhism under Uisang's teaching and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018 as part of the "Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea" designation.
