Yeongju

Yeongju, a city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, is known for two historically significant sites: Buseoksa Temple, a representative temple of Silla-era Avatamsaka Buddhism, and Sosu Seowon, the first Confucian academy in Korea to receive national financial support through tax exemptions. The city sits within reach of Sobaeksan National Park and is an agricultural hub particularly associated with ginseng and apples.
