Laxenburg
Austria
This compact Austrian village south of Vienna is best known for the Laxenburg castles and their surrounding park, which served as the Habsburg monarchs' most important summer retreat outside Schönbrunn. The grounds include the Franzensburg, a castle set on the water within the park. A handful of cafés and restaurants serve visitors, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
